Cigars of the Pharaoh is the first volume in this special promotional Tintin A5 collection, issued in cooperation with the Belgian newspaper De Morgen. In this classic adventure, Tintin becomes entangled in a mysterious case involving an ancient Egyptian tomb, a secret society and an international network of criminals.
This Dutch-language hardcover edition was published by Casterman in 2004. It is the first printing of this promotional reissue and forms an attractive addition to any Tintin collection. The campaign started in De Morgen on 20 November 2004, with a new volume available every Saturday for an additional charge of €4. The series was later also distributed through the Dutch newspaper Het Parool.
The offered copy is in mint condition.
Both the illustrations and the story were created by Georges Remi, better known as Hergé.
